Thank you for your interest in our market

Thank you for your interest in our market for the 2026 market season.  All market participants including vendors, musicians, and community organizations must submit an application.  It’s the same application for everyone!

We are working to grow our market and create a professional but community focused market. Please take your time to review the information on this page carefully. We do our best to set you up for success.

We work to keep a balance between our produce, bakers and artisans. Because of this, not all applicants will be able to be accepted at any given point in the season.

Thank you, again, for your interest and we look forward to learning more about you!

Fresh Sourdough

Policies

The Ishpeming Farmers Market has space for approximately 50 vendors at our outdoor market who produce and sell Michigan food and farm products, and originally created non-food artisan products. We welcome talented producers who make available high-quality goods. We prioritize local ingredients, local products, and local producers. Please see below for our policies regarding spaces, set up, licensing and more.

Booth Space & Setup

  • Booth spaces will be assigned this year by the market director. Vendors must stay within their allotted space. Tables, tents, and displays are the responsibility of the vendors and must be safe, stable, and professional in appearance

  • Canopies MUST be weighted down securely as we get a lot of wind in our market location.  We recommend 30 pounds on each leg!

  • There is no drilling into the concrete to secure your tent.

  • Our market is rain or shine unless otherwise noted. If we are under severe thunderstorm threats or the parking lot is impassible for some reason due to storms, the market will not be held.

  • Vendors are expected to arrive on time by NO LATER than 10:30 and be fully set up before market opening, and remain for the full duration of the market unless prior approval is given.  Cars must all be removed by the market area 15 minutes before market opens. If you are needing to work out of the trunk of your car or bed of your truck, please make sure that is on the application so we can put you in an appropriate location within the market.

  • A vendor who arrives late will be given one warning and then will no longer be permitted at the market. No refunds will be given.

  • There is to be NO SMOKING at your table or inside the market. All smoking must be done outside of the market perimeters.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • We ask that all vendors attend all markets if possible to provide stability to our customers and to provide a variety of products.

  • Drop in rates will be available but you must give 24 hours notice of your request so we can make sure that there is space available. NO drop ins the day of the market will be allowed with the 24 hours notice.

  • Pricing for the market is $10/week with drop in rates being $15. There will be a total of 17 markets this season. If paying for all markets up front, the cost will be $150, giving you 2 free weeks (or missed weeks that you may not be able to make it).

  • All payments are non-refundable. We are not responsible for weather related cancellations.

  • Markets run from 11am-2pm with set up beginning at 9. Tear down begins at 2pm. (If you need more time for set up, please let me know).

  • You are responsible for clean up of your space including all garbage removal. Garbage can be dropped across the service drive at Milano Smokehouse dumpster for your convenience.

Licensing & Regulations

  • Produce and baked goods must be produced by the seller. This includes growing your own produce or baking your own baked goods.

  •  Food products produced under the Michigan Cottage Food Law must conform to the regulations set forth in that legislation. All vendors who call under the Cottage Food Law must provide the market director with proof of having taken the course online. All processing and packaging must be done by the vendor, in their primary residence, and have required labeling.

  • Vendors are responsible for maintaining all required licenses, permits, and insurance, including (but not limited to) MDARD, food safety certifications, and local health department approvals. Proof must be provided upon request.

  • Vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting applicable sales tax where warranted. This is not up to the market manager and is up to you.

All policies may be revised as necessary at the discretion of market management and may reflect guidance or requirements from the Market Director, property owner, regulatory authorities, or other governing bodies involved in the operation of the market.

Enforcement Policy

Failure to follow market policies or any disputes about market policies should be brought to the attention of the Market Manager. The process for all market policy violations and disputes is as follows:

  • First Offense: Verbal warning from Market Manager with market representative witnesses present.

  • Second Offense: Written warning or letter of non-compliance, including an explanation of which policy has not been observed, the steps that need to be taken to come into compliance, and the requested timeline in which those steps should be taken. Vendor will also be asked to forfeit their next scheduled market day.

  • Third Offense: Vendor/s will either be asked to leave the market or will be excluded from returning to the next market (or market season), depending upon the severity and timing of the offense. If a vendor is asked to leave or not return to a market, no registration fees will be returned.

  • If a vendor poses a health or safety hazard to themselves, other vendors, or market visitors, the market manager reserves the right to immediately dismiss a vendor from any or all market dates. All warnings will be documented by the market manager and remain on vendor records across market dates and seasons. The Market Manager will review these warnings for each market and determine if they impact vendor eligibility for future markets.
